Using Microsoft SharePoint for your business can be quite helpful. Know how you can view the reports for SharePoint in this article.

When you want to view the reports for SharePoint, the best way to do this is through Web Parts. You must understand first that Reporting Services will provide the user with numerous Web Parts which will work specifically with versions of the server for the report. In addition, there are particular modes of deployment for the reports. If you want to access the content of the report server using the SharePoint site, you can easily do this using SharePoint Web Parts. This is included in the Reporting Services.

The instructions for the installation and how you can use the Web Parts are uncomplicated. When accessing the server which operates under integrated mode in SharePoint, you can make use of the Reporting Services Add in. Now, you have two options in Web Parts: the Report Explorer and the Report Viewer. These two were introduced and is available in SQL Server Reporting Services SP2. The current releases also have these to Web Parts.

The Report Explorer and Report Viewer provide a way for the user to view the reports and explore the folder hierarchy of the report server in the SharePoint site. With the former, it connects you to Report Manager on your company’s report server. You can easily browse the available reports and even subscribe to specific reports. You can enable Report Builder and in doing so, you can access this in the Report Explorer Web Part. This also displays the contents of your report folder through the Report Manager page. You can access the individual folders and items all through the folder hierarchy in the report server. This process is controlled by the report server particularly through the role assignments.

Upon selecting the report you want to view, a new window will appear. The report server will be presented with an HTML viewer, which will display the report. This will also provide you with the report toolbar and not the other Web Part. You can also customize the settings of the toolbar but make sure that you have specified the access parameters for the URL on the report server.

Meanwhile, the Report Viewer displays the report and offers a toolbar in which you can utilize to navigate the pages, search for a particular content and export a certain report from eh folder. You can also add this Web Part in the page for the Web Part so that it will always show you the report that you want. You also have the option to display the report that is accessed through the Report Viewer.

In order for you to use these two Web parts, you will need to comply with a few requirements, which include specific versions of the Microsoft SharePoint technologies and other products that are supported by the Web Parts. You should also check that the version of the report server should be the most recent SQL Server Reporting Services starting from SQL Server 2005. The report server should be operated in native mode. Now, you know how you will be able to view the reports for SharePoint easily.
